Rain has canceled the morning workout session...which is quite okay with me. For one thing, I'm taking a 2nd day off so wasn't really planning on driving all the way into Carlsbad just to join the exercise group. But secondly, man am I'm stiff from last night's run. What's up with that?
I was moving pretty briskly last night, I admit. I probably ran about as hard as I did in the Sunday race, but there was the added features of uphills, which weren't really present in the Scripps Ranch course. That could be the difference; that and maybe the closeness of running the two 10K distances so quickly and so closely together.
I don't know, but I sure do feel it in the lower abdomen and adductor muscles, and as usually in the upper quads and hips. Hamstrings, even, are a little tight. I'm sure they would all loosen up after warming up, but still...
So, I'm guessing that the makeup bootcamp day will be either tomorrow or Monday. Probably tomorrow. I'm going back to work tomorrow, so either way that'll work out. There are only two more sessions left. It's kind of hokey, but it's been good. I'm going to miss it. I wonder if they'll schedule another one and let some of us repeat?

I might as well answer the pair of questions FREEDOMSTAR asked me here:
1. My main focus is running, but especially this summer I've been trying to even that out with plenty of crosstraining, mainly on the spin bike and in the pool swimming. I would normally do strength training on MWF, but this bootcamp thing I'm in replaces that on Mondays and Wednesdays. I still will try to work with weights and other resistance exercises on Fridays. I tend to focus on the upper body: chest, shoulders, back and arms; since they get ignored in my cardio workouts...except swimming. The bootcamp workout is mostly calisthenics and plyometric, but it definitely is strength oriented with a good dose of cardio, like a circuit workout for an hour.
2. On my night runs, no, I don't wear a headlamp. I do wear a reflective vest and carry a flashlight.
