I Think I'm Back on My Feet Again

Ran 8 miles today at Lake Miramar.  Max Run 5K was going on , but they didn't shut down the perimeter road to other non-participating traffic, so I was able to get a Fartlek-ish lap and a half in, playing with the Nike+ along the way. 

Felt good.  I held my breath around mile 6, but no calf issues.  Later, I stopped by Laces to talk with Mike and go over the initial plan, now that it tentatively looks like I'm healthy again.  He's going to ease me into it, only giving me a schedule for the next 3 days: easy 35-40 minutes tomorrow, then no run on Monday and then put in a 60-minute run at marathon pace (about 7 miles).  We'll take stock again after that. 

I didn't blog on Friday, but I spent 40 minutes in the pool, adding 250 yards of kickboard to (what's become my standard) 3 x 500: free, buoy, intervals.  I was going to lift afterwards, but decided I shouldn't be out of the office that long. 

I weighed in at 144 again, so it looks like I'm fairly stable.  I thought I'd be 142-143 by now, but I must be underestimating my caloric intake.  I'm certainly not overestimating my calorie burn. I've been continuing my cholesterol-busting measures and tracking even though the results were not what I had hoped.  Next week will be 12 weeks worth of effort and I'll have my blood panel done again.  I don't expect much difference, so I guess I'll talk to the doctor and talk about what to do next.  If nothing else, I'm hoping he'll order up a calcium score screening. 

12 week.  -3.5 pounds.  Talk about slow.
