I feel like I'm always writing about aches and pains. Are aches and pains my lot in life from here on out, regardless of how fit or conditioned I might be? Are aches and pains the ravages of age?
I didn't expect to feel this beat up after the Boot Camp thing. It was only 3 miles, afterall. And I've done Cross Fit and boot camp workouts before. I didn't expect the race to be easy, but neither did I expect to need much recovery time from it.
The tweaked ankle stiffened up over night and I wound up limping all day today. I originally planned on a light recovery run today, but no way on this ankle. (The heat wave would likely have stopped me anyway were it not for the ankle soreness.) It doesn't feel like a long term injury. I think I'll be able to go easy on it on Monday. If not, then Tuesday for sure.
