But I had a teleconference scheduled at noon over the lunch hour, so spinning was out. I didn't realize that until this morning when I looked over the packed agenda on my calendar. I wasn't too crushed though because I was feeling a bit fatigued from the last 3 days, which were more on the heavy side. I figured I could use the unscheduled rest.
But as afternoon wore on, my appointments eased and I was feeling stressed. So I walked over to the gym figuring I'd just put in 30 minutes in the pool. The pool is always relaxing. At the last minute, I decided to just hop on the elliptical trainer instead and do a low-intensity workout of some sort, watch TV and burn a few calories.
I did 3x20 minute programs, with dead hang chin ups in between. First, the Fit Test program, which is pretty easy and averages out to about 10C/minute. I scored low (38), but I wasn't surprised. I'm not feeling at my peak. Next, did a 20-minute hill profile and kept my HR around 110-130. Sweating, but not huffing-and-puffing. Finally, I tried a so-called "fat burner interval" Not sure why that's different from a regular interval, other than the cross ramp segments were longer, which I assume was supposed to correspond with lower resistance.
I don't know. Bottom line, I finished up just short of an hour, breaking a sweat but never going beyond a light aerobic intensity. It wasn't particularly fun, but it served it's calorie-burn purpose. I watched the first half of "The Butterfly Effect" on the closed circuit. (I like the plot concept, but not the execution.)
Tomorrow? Don't know. I really want to spend 30 minutes in the
I recognize I'm feeling some depression lately, but my workouts help to lift me out of that cloud...if only for awhile.
