No workout today (not counting house/yard work). That might change tonight if I wind up deciding to do some calisthenics/plyometrics tonight...or even just Wii Fit. But no run and no gym. My calf actually feels pretty good. I can still feel a little of the knot, but it's not forcing a limp or anything. However, I know better than to jump or pound on it. I'm not sure yet how long to wait. The prudent thing to do is probably to wait a week at least, no matter how strong it feels. It makes me anxious to wait that long.
What might be a good schedule for the upcoming week, in place of running?
Monday: 30 minutes high intensity intervals on the row machine + strength training
Tuesday: 60 minutes spin class
Wednesday: 60 minutes elliptical + strength training
Thursday: 30 minutes swim + last 30 minutes of spin class
Friday: 30 minutes elliptical + strength training
I really wish there was a way I could get on an elliptical machine this weekend. I'd like to do a steady, aerobic 90 minutes to simulate a 10+ mile run, just to keep the heart and lungs conditioned while the legs recover. Maybe I should do that Tuesday instead of spin class. Renee works us at a pretty high intensity.
I'll have to think about it. I can already sense that I'm probably going to get impatient and give the calf a test before next weekend.
HEAL!
