CrossFit Aftermath

Holy schnikes!  That CrossFit class messed me up.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  I think it's a good thing, even though yesterday evening and today my lower back rebellion seems to be trying to tell me it was a bad thing.

Yes.  My back is killing me.  But it's not like I "threw my back out."  I didn't injure the spine or pull anything.  I just overworked muscles I've never worked in that way before.  I'm sure it was the clean lifts and tire flips that did it.  Those lifting motions (with probably not the best of techniques) put a huge demand on my lower back which I haven't experienced before.  As yesterday wore on, the back muscles tightened and practically locked up, going into painful spasms if I leaned or stood or bent or...performed just about any motion.  I felt like a line out of the Petticoat Junction theme: "There's Uncle Joe, he's moving mighty slow..."

It's a bit better today, but I'm guessing that any hope of going out for a light evening run is probably out the window.  It's hard just to do household chores.

Even though it whipped me, I look forward to doing it again next Saturday.  If it weren't so expensive, I'd consider signing up.
