One Final No Run Day

It's time for bed and I'm still not sure of my readiness for tomorrow's 10K.  Except for a short 5 minute treadmill jog between circuit sets, I haven't run in four days now.  And I can't help but be a little anxious about how I'll do tomorrow.  I haven't tested the thigh.  I'm hopeful that because it was strained while sprinting, and that I've given it a little rest, there won't be any trouble at a 10K pace.

But I'm pretty certain that I'm not primed to challenge for that 46-minute time goal.  We'll see.  Maybe I'll wake up with a surplus of energy.  I never know.  I don't feel particularly chipper right now.  What I don't want to do, though, is ruin the day with disappointment just because I don't set a PR.  I watched last year's race as a spectator and it looked like a ton of fun.  I want to share in that fun, regardless of how I compete. I should look at it as a fun exercise with new friends.  I'll be joining the Laces running group in the morning, and hope to get to know more of them during the after-race festivities.

Tour de France began today with the Prologue time trials.  I'm not a cyclist, but I love the drama and am always inspired by the endurance abilities of these athletes.  Looking forward to it.
