I had myself scheduled to run today. It's 7:45PM and I still haven't yet.
I last ran on Sunday. Two days later and I'm still feeling quite stiff in the quads/hams/thighs. Why? Sunday's run wasn't so intense that I'd expect to take 48 hours to recover. Is this another example of taper freak out?
We had our PMR at work today so there was little opportunity anyway to break away for a run. Still, I was not inclined to run anyway because it sure feels like I need the rest. This taper mindset is hard.
I might still go out tonight for an evening jaunt around the neighborhood. I really like those 30-60 minute outings. Joan hates them because she worries. But the cool and quiet of the evening can turn those runs into something euphoric.
We'll see.
