These no-run days kill me. I can't seem to scale back my calorie intake, but I don't have the calorie burn. I don't think I'm going to be able to get through the week this way without gaining about 5 lbs. I'm going to have to throw in some "fat-burning" cardio on the alternating no-run days.
My thoughts on the next 7 days training schedule:
Tomorrow: 10 mile pace run at Lake Miramar in the early AM with Quin
Monday: ? Was going to swim, but I'm not going to work so no pool.
Tuesday: 4x440 intervals on the treadmill...and a circuit or two on the weights
Wednesday: Swim or Elliptical
Thursday: 3-4 miles easy with 6x100m strides on treadmill
Friday: rest
Saturday: light 3 mile jog and early, early to bed
As is typical, I'll probably change things up on the fly, but I must be wise about conserving energy and keeping the legs fresh.
I've been keeping up this blog for 5 months now. I've not once gone back to read old entries, and I'm pretty sure these pages are not frequented by anyone else. Makes me wonder why I'm doing this, especially if it's barely interesting to me even.
Ah well; it lets me get the cobwebs out and who knows? Maybe I will find it interesting to go back and see what I was thinking.
Joan's in Las Vegas with Lucy. Bailey's been at ballet all day and then Quin and I took her to rendezvous with friends at Del Mar for an afternoon at the beach. Quin and I have been home just hanging out. Didn't get any of the house work done I'd hoped for. I did get to watch Duke defeat UVA in the lacrosse NCAA semis. And I put up the gazebo tent on the patio, but that backyard had gotten unruly again.
It was pretty warm today, and the forecast is looking to be identical for the next 7-10 days. I have feeling that last hour of the marathon is going to be tough.
